Today I tried on my class ring again, and as usual, I slid it onto my ring finger…

…which yes, is kind of bizarre, since that is usually the place for a promise ring or engagement ring or wedding ring or any other ring that shows a vow to fidelity.

I have reason to wear it on that finger though. When I first received my class ring it was at the end of junior year, in which I was exhausted and stressed beyond comprehension, and in my delirium thought it would be hilarious to wear the class ring on my ring finger to symbolize that I was “married to my work,”  or in my case, school, since school had taken over pretty much everything in my life after the 7 years of time I had put into it. 

However, today, for some reason, my class ring didn’t fit on my ring finger.
It actually was too big, and slid right off.
I don’t know why- it’s not like I gained or lost weight on my fingers.
Last year, or junior year, I learned a valuable lesson about balance, what I value most in my life and not letting one thing take over completely.
So, having the ring slide off felt like not only me letting go of school, but also the school letting me go as well.
…which makes me sad because it’s almost graduation, and I’m a senior this year, and it just felt like some weird form of closure. And as miserable school has made me, I will definitely miss my school next year.

This is why biology interests me so much I mean LOOK AT IT. i just stared at this for the longest time. this needs more notes. Totally agree with the person above, this is amazing. i watched it at least 10 times! O.o And people ask me why I take biology? It’s FULL of natural wonders. It’s just amazing.
